The Texas Rangers have filled out new manager
Posted by: laiyongcai92 - 01-15-2019, 06:39 AM - Forum: Abgeschmeckt - No Replies

ARLINGTON http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authen...vis-jersey , Texas (AP) —  Chris Woodward’s staff with two more assistant coaches.Texas announced Tuesday the hiring of Oscar Marin as bullpen coach and Callix Crabbe as assistant hitting coach.Marin returns to the Rangers organization after two seasons as minor league pitching coordinator for the Seattle Mariners. He got started in pro baseball with the Rangers in 2010 and worked at several affiliates in the lower levels of their farm system through 2016.Crabbe joins the professional coaching ranks after six years as a baseball instructor and coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He also founded a Tampa-based sports development center in 2015.Rangers pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Arizona on Feb. 12. The first full team workout is Feb. 18. Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesThe Washington Nationals placed starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg on the 10-day disabled list Thursday, retroactive to July 22, with an unspecified injury. An MRI on Strasburg's shoulder revealed no damage http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authen...day-jersey , and the star pitcher will visit a neurologist in Los Angeles to evaluate a potential nerve issue, per Dan Kolko of MASN.According to MLB.com'sJamal Collier, the Nats are expected to call up Tommy Milone to start against the Miami Marlins on Thursday.Washington's decision comes on the heels of a disappointing outing for Strasburg in his most recent start. After allowing six earned runs on eight hits and two walks in 4.2 innings against the Atlanta Braves last week, Strasburg got into an argument with fellow starter Max Scherzer in the dugout. The Nationals placed Strasburg on the DL in June with right shoulder inflammation. Injuries have been a recurring problem for the three-time All-Star Dalton Pompey Jersey , with ESPN.com noting he made six trips to the DL over the past four years prior to his latest stint.Injury issues aside, Strasburg has been fairly solid in 2018. While not pitching at the standards he set over the last few seasons, he's6-7 with a 3.90 ERA and a 3.50 FIP in 14 starts.Strasburgfinished with a career-best 2.52 ERA (minimum six starts) last season. While Milone is expected to replace Strasburg for the time being, there will be additional pressure on Scherzer http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authen...una-jersey , Gio Gonzalez, Tanner Roark and Jeremy Hellickson to step up while Strasburg is out as well. The Nats are seven games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for the NL East lead, and they trail the Atlanta Braves by 5.5 games for the final wild-card spot in the NL.If Strasburg's DL stay is an extended one, an already difficult trek to the postseason will become even tougher for Washington.

  The first-place Cleveland Indians
Posted by: laiyongcai92 - 01-15-2019, 06:29 AM - Forum: Abgeschmeckt - No Replies

in a three-game series by the last-place Kansas City Royals when the two teams meet on Sunday afternoon in Kauffman Stadium. After splitting a tense and competitive four-game series with the Red Sox in Boston on the first leg of a seven-game road trip Barry Larkin Jersey , the Indians have looked flat in dropping the first two games in Kansas City by a combined score of 12-5, including the Royals beating Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber 7-1 Saturday night.Cleveland has lost four in a row, matching its longest losing streak of the year.Article continues below ...“We’ve got to figure out a way to play better,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “We look a little tired. We’ve got to show up (Sunday) and grind and find a way to win.”The Indians go into Sunday’s series finale with their two most important hitters, both MVP candidates, in slumps. In the first six games of the road trip Francisco Lindor is hitting .154 (4-for-26) with no RBIs, and Jose Ramirez is hitting .143 (3-for-21) with no RBIs.“They’re having a tough time,” Francona said. “We lean on them so much, and we will continue to. But (Royals pitchers) have done a real good job on those guys the last couple of nights.”In their 7-1 loss Saturday night the Indians were out-hit by the Royals 14-5. Cleveland’s only run came on a balk.Sunday’s pitching matchup will be a pair of right-handers, Cleveland’s Shane Bieber vs. Kansas City’s Jorge Lopez.Bieber (7-2, 4.36) is coming off one of his most impressive starts of the season, a 6-3 win over Boston on Aug. 21 in which he held the Red Sox’ potent offense scoreless on two hits through the first six innings. Bieber’s final line was 6 1/3 innings http://www.redsfanproshop.com/authentic-...abo-jersey , three runs, five hits, with five strikeouts and no walks.Bieber is a rookie, and like many rookies he’s been very streaky. In four August starts he is 2-0 with a 3.13 ERA. In his four starts prior to that he was 1-2 with a 7.71 ERA. In his four starts prior to that he was 4-0 with a 2.19 ERA.Sunday will be Bieber’s second career appearance vs. Kansas City. His only other appearance against the Royals was a start on July 3 in which he got the win in a 6-4 Cleveland victory. He pitched six innings, allowing four runs and nine hits, with two strikeouts and one walk.Lopez (0-3, 3.99) was acquired by Kansas City from Milwaukee as part of a trade in which the Royals sent Mike Moustakas to the Brewers. Lopez was used as a reliever in Milwaukee, but the Royals are using him as a starter. In 10 relief appearances with the Brewers Lopez was 0-1 with a 2.75 ERA. In two starts with the Royals he is 0-2 with a 6.52 ERA. Lopez also appeared in a combined 26 games (two starts) at the Triple-A level for the Brewers and Royals and was 4-3 with a 5.26 ERA.Lopez’s last major league start for Kansas City was a 1-0 loss to Tampa Bay on Aug. 20, in which he pitched five innings, allowing one run and five hits, with three strikeouts and three walks.Lopez has one career appearance vs. Cleveland, a relief effort for Milwaukee on May 9. He pitched two innings Billy Hamilton Jersey , giving up two runs and two hits, with one strikeout and no walks. For his career overall at the major league level, Lopez is 1-3 with a 5.95 ERA in four career starts. In 11 career relief appearances he is 0-1 with a 2.91 ERA. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The best game of Chris Stratton’s career got off to a shaky start when the San Francisco pitcher allowed hits to his first two batters and fell behind in the count 3-0 to the third.A deep breath, a little faith in catcher Nick Hundley and a fastball that was effective all night settled things down.Stratton threw a career-high eight innings to outpitch Patrick Corbin, and the Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 Monday on a two-run homer by Steven Duggar.“It was huge,” Stratton said about working out of the early jam. “Hundo did an awesome job back there mixing it up, and once we got past that it really just kind of took off from there.”Arizona remained a game up in the NL West over Colorado when the Rockies lost 10-7 to the Los Angeles Angels.Stratton and Corbin had nearly identical outings, the difference being Duggar’s homer in the second.Stratton (9-7) permitted five hits, struck out six and allowed only two runners past first base. He walked none and retired 17 of his final 18 batters to win for the first time since June 17.The right-hander, who leads the Giants in wins despite two stints in the minors, gave up back-to-back singles to open the game but pitched out of it. Stratton also gave up a two-out triple to Jon Jay in the fifth but got Eduardo Escobar to fly out.Tony Watson retired two batters for San Francisco. Hunter Strickland got Nick Ahmed to fly out for his 14th save, completing the five-hitter.It was the Giants’ 11th shutout this season.“The first inning Anthony DeSclafani Jersey , that was the key inning for (Stratton),” San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said. “After that he was really good. Really good with his command and all of his pitches. We needed it. Their guy threw well.”Corbin (10-5) was equally sharp after yielding Duggar’s home run. The Arizona lefty retired the next 10 batters, then got three consecutive groundouts after allowing a double and a single to start off the sixth.Corbin had nine strikeouts and one walk in seven innings while absorbing his first loss in six starts against the Giants this season. He gave up four hits.“Usually our offense is going to get us back in it so I just tried to put up as many zeros as I could,” Corbin said. “We had a couple chances early tonight but Stratton was a little bit better.”The Diamondbacks became the fastest team in major league history to reach 25,000 strikeouts as a team, topping the milestone in 3,371 games. The Miami Marlins did it in 3,650 games.“Really unfortunate night for Patrick,” Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said. “He threw the ball extremely well. Just made one mistake. Outside of that, he was outstanding. Unfortunately we couldn’t score some runs for him.”Duggar’s second home run of the season helped the Giants gain ground on the Diamondbacks. San Francisco pulled within seven games of first place and 7½ of the second wild card.“If we can keep rallying off some wins, we might surprise some people,” Duggar said.Jon Jay had three hits for Arizona. Paul Goldschmidt walked in the ninth and has reached base safely in 39 consecutive road games http://www.redsfanproshop.com/authentic-...all-jersey , an ongoing club record.Duggar lined a 3-1 pitch from Corbin to right field, two batters after Brandon Crawford singled. Duggar’s only other home run this season also came against Arizona on Aug. 4.CORBIN’S STREAK ENDSCorbin had not allowed a home run in 11 consecutive starts before Duggar’s drive. That matched the longest streak by a Diamondbacks pitcher, equaling the mark set by Miguel Batista from August 2002 to April 2003.“I’ve probably made worse pitches than that that weren’t for homers,” Corbin said.TRAINER’S ROOMGiants catcher Buster Posey underwent successful hip surgery in Vail, Colorado. The six-time All-Star will be sidelined six to eight months.UP NEXTRHP Clay Buchholz (7-2, 2.25 ERA) opposes San Francisco LHP Madison Bumgarner (5-5, 2.88) in a marquee pitching matchup Tuesday night. Buchholz is 2-0 and has allowed one run over his past two starts covering 16 innings. Bumgarner has yielded three runs or fewer in 12 of his 15 starts.

Why the Red SoxCan Pay on the MLB LinesAll the pressure is on Los Angeles to perform, putting Boston in an ideal position. The worst-case scenario is the Red Sox lose three in a row at Dodger Stadium and return home for Game 6 in a must-win situation, but they have dropped three straight only once in the previous two months.Rick Porcello (17-7 http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/leonard...rsey-cheap , 4.28 ERA) will get the call in Game 3 and was great on the road during the regular season with a 10-3 mark and 3.86 ERA. In the postseason, Porcello started the team's 8-6 win over the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, giving up four runs in four innings. Prior to that, he allowed one run in six innings in the playoffs. Why the DodgersCan Pay on the MLB LinesThe Dodgers have not lost three consecutive games since August 22, so the odds are against that trend repeating itself here, especially in L.A. Manager Dave Roberts will get his big hitters back in the starting lineup Youth Myles Jack Jersey , including outfielder Cody Bellinger. The Dodgers will also turn to rookie pitcher Walker Buehler (8-5, 2.62 ERA) in this key spot, as he was 4-3 with a 1.93 ERA in 13 regular-season games at home, limiting opposing hitters to a .174 batting average. "I think there was one swing where he let go the bottom hand and the top hand finished his swing. He said that he felt something there. We don't know right now."Tebow, who played in the Eastern League All-Star Game last week Youth Yannick Ngakoue Jersey , has been playing some of the best baseball of his career lately. The 30-year-old former NFL quarterback has tallied at least one hit in nine of his past 10 games, including a 3-for-5 performance with a home run against the Akron RubberDucks last Friday. He's posted a .273/.336/.399 triple-slash line with six homers across 84 games for Binghamton in 2018.His improvement throughout his second year in the minors has raised questions about whether the Mets, who are already fading from the MLB playoff race with a 40-55 record, might call him up to the majors when the rosters expand to 40 in September.Tebow sidestepped a question about that possibility ahead of his All-Star appearance, perEverett MerrillofBaseball America."I'm just working on seeing more pitches and having a plan when I come up to bat. I can't worry about the hypotheticals or the what-ifs," he said. "I don't think that's a place an athlete can live. I know as a baseball player I have a lot of room to grow http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/yannick...rsey-cheap , and I think I'm getting better every day and every series."How long the hand injury keeps him sidelined could play a key role in determining whether Tebow ends up making a few appearances for the Mets this season.

So much for any lingering concern about Eduardo Rodriguez’s

CHICAGO (AP) —  right ankle. He answered every question with a pile of Ks.Rodriguez struck out 12 in 5 2/3 innings in his return from an ankle injury Bo Jackson Jersey , leading the Boston Red Sox over the Chicago White Sox 6-1 on Saturday night.“Best stuff of the season,” manager Alex Cora said. “Location, mix of pitches, tempo, that was impressive.”Jackie Bradley Jr., Ian Kinsler and Eduardo Nunez homered as AL East-leading Boston maintained its 7½-game lead over the New York Yankees, who held off Detroit for a 2-1 win. The Red Sox won for the fourth time in five games to run the majors’ best record to 94-43, already one more victory than they had when they won the division each of the past two years.Rodriguez (12-3) allowed one run and three hits in his first major league appearance since he sprained his right ankle while covering first against Toronto on July 14. The left-hander retired his first 12 batters, striking out 10.“All my pitches were right where I wanted,” he said.It was a welcome development for a Boston team already missing ace Chris Sale and fellow lefty David Price because of injuries.“We know that we’re searching for outs and for starters and everything. That was great for us,” Cora said. “He’ll be ready for his next start, we know that. There’s no limitations.”Carlos Rodon (6-4) kept the White Sox in the game for a while before committing a costly error in the seventh. With one out and runners on second and third, the lefty fielded Andrew Benintendi’s comebacker and threw wildly to first, allowing Christian Vazquez to come home.“Right now, I just can’t believe I did that,” Rodon said. “But I did it and just got to turn the page.”Steve Pearce and J.D. Martinez then hit run-scoring singles as Boston opened a 5-1 lead. Kinsler added a solo drive on a 3-0 pitch from Ryan Burr in the eighth.Rodon was charged with five runs, four earned, and six hits in 6 1/3 innings in his first loss since June 30. He was 5-0 with a 1.84 ERA in his previous nine starts.“You give a good club like that extra outs and they take advantage of it,” manager Rick Renteria said. The 25-year-old Rodon was sailing along before Nunez and Bradley connected in the fifth, powering the Red Sox to a 2-0 lead. Nunez’s 10th homer was originally ruled a double, but the call was overturned when a replay review showed his leadoff drive caromed off a railing above the wall in left.Rodriguez extended his scoreless streak to 24 innings before Nicky Delmonico hit an RBI double in the sixth. Cora then brought in Ryan Brasier, who struck out Avisail Garcia to end the inning.MAKING MOVESThe White Sox promoted left-handers Aaron Bummer and Caleb Frare from Triple-A Charlotte. Bummer and Frare join a group of young relievers auditioning for more prominent roles in Chicago’s bullpen in 2019.The 25-year-old Frare is looking to make his major league debut after he was acquired in a trade with the Yankees on July 29 for international bonus pool money. He went 1-0 with a 0.71 ERA in 11 appearances with the Knights.“It’s really cool that they’re considering me to be a part of their future, and I’m excited to be here,” Frare said.SWEET SEPTEMBERThe Red Sox recalled five players from Triple-A Pawtucket: first baseman/outfielder Sam Travis, infielder Tzu-Wei Lin, lefties Robby Scott and Bobby Poyner and right-hander William Cuevas.TRAINER’S ROOMRed Sox: Price (bruised left wrist) played catch. “He feels OK,” Cora said. “He’s gonna try and pick it up tomorrow and see how he feels.” It’s unclear when Price will make his next start. … 3B Rafael Devers (strained left hamstring) could continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket through the end of the minor league schedule on Monday. “We’ll take it day by day, but he needs the at-bats,” Cora said. “He’ll benefit from that.” … Rodriguez, Vazquez (broken finger) and knuckleballer Steven Wright (left knee inflammation) were activated from the 10-day disabled list. Vazquez got the start and went 0 for 3 with a walk.White Sox: Garcia left after six innings because of right knee soreness. He is day to day. … RHP Nate Jones was transferred to the 60-day disabled list. Jones is out with a strained right arm.UP NEXTRed Sox left-hander Brian Johnson (4-3, 4.02 ERA) and White Sox right-hander James Shields (5-15, 4.54 ERA) pitch in the series finale on Sunday. Johnson is 4-1 with a 3.51 ERA in his 11 starts this year. Shields has one win and a 4.83 ERA over his last eight outings. David Maxwell/Getty ImagesWhat if MLB's All-Star teams were comprised entirely of players 25-and-under, and what if those teams met in a completely hypothetical contest?Who would win? That's the question we're setting out to answer. First, a few ground rules:Both teams will feature 25 players, including 14 position players and 11 pitchers. The starting lineups must be populated by eight players who have logged at least an inning at the position in question in 2018, but we're not worrying about balancing the benches (like with a backup catcher, say).Players must be 25 years old or younger as of this writing (duh).Guys don't have to be healthy, but they need to have accumulated enough WAR while they were on the field this season.Speaking of which: Rosters were selected based on FanGraphs' WAR rankings for 2018 entering play Monday. Yes, WAR is an imperfect measure of player value. Granted, this inevitably sparked some controversial calls (for example: ride the pine, Bryce Harper). But we didn't have a big, fancy fan vote鈥攁nd it's tough to argue WAR didn't help us pick two pretty darn good squads stocked with some of the most exciting burgeoning talent in the game.In cases of a tie, we broke it based on career WAR.As for who would win? We'll tally up the totals and save that for the end.American League Starters1 of 7Adam Glanzman/Getty ImagesCGary Sanchez, New York Yankees (age 25, 1.2 WAR)1BMatt Olson, Oakland Athletics (age 24, 1.6 WAR)2BAlex Bregman Paulo Orlando Jersey , Houston Astros (age 24, 4.5 WAR)SSFrancisco Lindor, Cleveland Indians (age 24, 5.3 WAR)3BJose Ramirez, Cleveland Indians (age 25, 6.5 WAR)OFMookie Betts, Boston Red Sox (age 25, 6.3 WAR)OFAndrew Benintendi, Boston Red Sox (age 24, 3.6 WAR)OFDaniel Robertson, Tampa Bay Rays (age 24, 2.2 WAR) We fudged a little sliding the Houston Astros' Alex Bregman from his natural position at third base to second, but he did log one start there this season. That said, he rounds out a superb infield that includes the Oakland Athletics' Matt Olson and Cleveland Indians cohorts Jose Ramirez and Francisco Lindor, who have hit like a latter-day Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig tandem in 2018.Behind the dish, New York Yankees receiver Gary Sanchez is out with a groin injury but is expected back after the All-Star break, per Marc Carig of The Athletic. He's hitting a subpar .190 but has cracked 14 homers with 41 RBI in 63 games. In the outfield, Boston Red Sox teammates Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi bring their enviable, toolsy skill sets and are joined by Daniel Robertson of the Tampa Bay Rays, a versatile wild card who's played left field, every infield position and even pitched a scoreless frame.National League Starters2 of 7Scott Cunningham/Getty ImagesCJorge Alfaro, Philadelphia Phillies (age 25, 1.1 WAR)1B Cody Bellinger, Los Angeles Dodgers (age 23, 2.1 WAR)2BOzzie Albies, Atlanta Braves (age 21, 3.4 WAR)SSTrevor Story, Colorado Rockies (age 25, 3.0 WAR)3BJavier Baez, Chicago Cubs (age 25, 3.4 WAR)OF Kyle Schwarber, Chicago Cubs (age 25, 2.6 WAR)OFBrandon Nimmo, New York Mets (age 25, 2.5 WAR)OFBrian Anderson, Miami Marlins (age 25, 2.1 WAR) That's one heck of an emerging infield.Occasional struggles aside, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Cody Bellinger and Trevor Story boast a combined 37 homers and 112 RBI at first base and shortstop, respectively.Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies was recently called "one of the best hitters I've ever seen" by no less an authority than the Astros' Jose Altuve, per Gabriel Burns of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Cubs' Javier Baez was a stretch at third considering he's spent far more time at the keystone sack and shortstop, but he's manned the hot corner, and his 19 homers, NL-leading 72 RBI and .892 OPS are too good to ignore. On the subject of Cubbies, Baez is the only North Side player with a higher WAR than Kyle Schwarber, who's cracked 18 home runs with an .873 OPS and gets a nod in the outfield next to the New York Mets' Brandon Nimmo (13 HR, .863 OPS) and Miami Marlins' Brian Anderson, who CBS Sports' R.J. As it is, he scarcely squeaked onto a solid bench that features his speedy fellow Nat Trea Turner, Cubs teammates Addison Russell and Albert Almora Jr., plus the St. Louis Cardinals' Paul DeJong and Cincinnati Reds' Jose Peraza.Harper should be OK hanging with those guys while he waits to get in the game.American League Pitchers5 of 7Tom Szczerbowski/Getty ImagesRHP Luis Severino, New York Yankees (age 24, 4.0 WAR)RHP Edwin Diaz, Seattle Mariners (age 24, 2.4 WAR)RHP Jose Berrios, Minnesota Twins (age 24, 2.3 WAR)LHP Blake Snell, Tampa Bay Rays (age 25, 2.3 WAR)RHP Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angels (age 24, 2.1 WAR)RHP Lance McCullers Jr., Houston Astros (age 24, 1.9 WAR)LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, Boston Red Sox (age 25, 1.9 WAR)RHP Jose Leclerc, Texas Rangers (age 24, 1.4 WAR)RHP Michael Fulmer Frank White Jersey , Detroit Tigers (age 25, 1.4 WAR)RHP Joe Jimenez, Detroit Tigers (age 23, 1.3 WAR)RHP Reynaldo Lopez, Chicago White Sox (age 24, 1.2 WAR) Yankees righty Luis Severino is the undisputed ace of this staff and obviously should start our imaginary contest. After that, the AL can turn to a bevy of emerging starting stars such as the Rays' Blake Snell and one of the best closers in the game in the Seattle Mariners' Edwin Diaz. The most eyebrow-raising addition here is the Los Angeles Angels' Shohei Ohtani, who came on strong as a two-way star before succumbing to elbow trouble and is back with the bat in Anaheim but hasn't pitched in a game since June 6.The assumption is the 24-year-old will again take the mound in the majors, so we combined his WAR as a hitter and hurler and gave him a nod.National League Pitchers6 of 7Mike Stobe/Getty ImagesRHP Aaron Nola, Philadelphia Phillies (age 25, 4.2 WAR)LHP Josh Hader, Milwaukee Brewers (age 24, 2.1 WAR)RHP Noah Syndergaard, New York Mets (age 25, 2.0 WAR)RHP Zach Eflin, Philadelphia Phillies (age 24, 1.9 WAR)LHP Kyle Freeland, Colorado Rockies (age 25, 1.8 WAR)RHP Nick Pivetta, Philadelphia Phillies (age 25, 1.7 WAR)RHP Seranthony Dominguez, Philadelphia Phillies (age 23, 1.5 WAR)RHP Luke Weaver, St. Louis Cardinals (age 24, 1.5 WAR)LHP Andrew Suarez, San Francisco Giants (age 25, 1.4 WAR)RHP Walker Buehler, Los Angeles Dodgers (age 23, 1.4 WAR)RHP German Marquez, Colorado Rockies (age 23, 1.2 WAR) Noah Syndergaard returned to action July 13 for the Mets and threw five innings of one-run ball at home against the Nationals. If not, it's Phillies righty Aaron Nola, who has fanned 24 while allowing only three earned runs in 20 July frames.Oh, and after that the NL can hand the ball to the Milwaukee Brewers' Josh Hader, who pairs his 1.50 ERA with a no-that's-not-a-typo 16.7 strikeouts per nine innings.Might want to save him for the late innings.   The Oakland Athletics were dealt a serious blow

in the middle of the postseason race and may be without starting pitcher Sean Manaea for the remainder of the 2018 season.According to Jane Lee of MLB.com Tyler Clippard Jersey , Manaea was "shut down indefinitely" after it was discovered he has rotator cuff tendinitis. Oakland hasn'truled out a 2018 return, but Lee cautioned there is "a chance" he won't pitch again for the rest of the campaign. The southpaw has been a steady source of production in Oakland's starting rotation this year and has a 3.59 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 108 strikeouts in 27 starts. The ERA and WHIP totals would both be career-bests, and he just allowed zero earned runs in five innings in a Friday victory over the Minnesota Twins in his most recent start. While the Athletics still have Mike Fiers, Trevor Cahill and Edwin Jackson Marwin Gonzalez Jersey , this is another blow to their starting rotation.Julian McWilliamsof The Athletic reported on Tuesday Brett Anderson was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a forearm strain.Don't expect any moves, though, asKen Rosenthalof The Athletic reported the team is "unlikely to add a starting pitcher" even after the injuries and will instead insert Daniel Mengden and Frankie Montas into the rotation.Oakland is 2.5 games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West but 4.5 games ahead of the Seattle Mariners in the race for the final wild-card position. It will be tasked with holding off the Mariners for the foreseeable future without one of its key pieces in Manaea. CHICAGO (AP) — Jim Thome now has a gigantic bat to go with a Hall of Fame plaque. The Chicago White Sox gave the former slugger with the big stick an appropriate gift during a pregame ceremony before Saturday night’s matchup against the Cleveland Indians, another honor for a player enshrined in Cooperstown in his first year of eligibility two weeks ago.“This is so special,” Thome said prior to the ceremony. “This is my family http://www.angelsfanproshop.com/authenti...out-jersey , this is where I work, this is where we live. … This is really special.”The White Sox showed highlights of Thome’s time with them as well as his Hall of Fame induction. Just as she did in Cooperstown, his daughter Lila sang the national anthem.Thome got a standing ovation as he walked out of the dugout. The White Sox presented several gifts, including a black 8-foot bat that had his name and images of him.Thome thanked former White Sox star Paul Konerko for attending the induction. He mentioned teammates such as Jermaine Dye, A.J. Pierzynski Kole Calhoun Jersey , Scott Podsednik and Joe Crede while praising former manager Ozzie Guillen and his staff as well as White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf and team executives Ken Williams and Rick Hahn. The tribute was fitting for a five-time All-Star who hit 612 homers in 22 seasons with Cleveland, Philadelphia, Chicago, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota and Baltimore.Thome got drafted by Cleveland out of Illinois Central College in the 13th round of the 1989 draft and spent his first 12 major league seasons with the Indians. But he forged a strong connection with the White Sox and their fans once Chicago acquired him in a trade with Philadelphia prior to the 2006 season.Thome hit 134 homers for the White Sox before getting dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers in August 2009. None were bigger than the drive he hit in the 2008 AL Central tiebreaker game to give the White Sox a 1-0 victory over the Twins. Chicago then lost to Tampa Bay in the AL Division Series.Thome grew up about 130 miles southwest of Comiskey Park in Peoria and remains a popular figure on the South Side. He is currently a special assistant to general manager Hahn. The Indians unveiled a statue of Thome at Progressive Field four years ago and are scheduled to honor him again next weekend. The Twins are also giving out Thome bobbleheads on Aug. 25.

in the MLB playoff field after beating the San Francisco Giants 10-6 on Saturday. The American League playoff picture is 100-percent official Aaron Altherr Jersey , as all five teams are in and know their respective seedings. However, none of the National League seedings are confirmed with just one game to go.We do know that the Atlanta Braves are the NL East champions and will either be the No. 2 or No. 3 seed.Otherwise, it's chaos. You can check out both playoff pictures below as teams get ready for Game No. 162 on Sunday. American League Playoff Picture (Official)1. Boston Red Sox (107-54, AL East champion)2. Houston Astros (103-58, AL West champion)3. Cleveland Indians (90-71, AL Central champion)4. New York Yankees (100-61, AL first Wild Card)5. Oakland Athletics (97-64, AL second Wild Card)The Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians will play each other in the American League Division Series. The New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics face off in the Wild Card Game on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, with the winner taking on the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS. National League (Through Saturday)1. Chicago Cubs (94-67, NL Central champion)2. Colorado Rockies (90-71, NL West champion)3. Atlanta Braves (90-71, NL East champion)4. Milwaukee Brewers (94-67, NL first Wild Card)5. Los Angeles Dodgers (90-71, NL second Wild Card)Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee BrewersThe Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers are tied for the NL Central lead with one game to go. The Cubs host the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, with Chicago southpaw Mike Montgomery facing Redbirds ace Jack Flaherty. The Milwaukee Brewers host the Detroit Tigers: Lefty Gio Gonzalez goes for the Brew Crew, while right-hander Spencer Turnbull goes for Detroit. Here's what we do know heading into Sunday: The NL Central division winner will get the No. 1 seed http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authen...ley-jersey , and the runner-up will host the NL Wild Card Game on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.However, we may not know the identities of the first- and second-place teams until Monday: If the Cubs and Brewers have the same Sunday result (whether it's two wins or two losses is irrelevant), they'll take part in a one-game playoff at Wrigley Field, per David Adler of MLB.com. The Cubs would get that hosting honor by virtue of winning the season series 11-8 over Milwaukee.Of course, the tiebreaker can be avoided if the Cubs and Brewers have different results Sunday. Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta BravesThe Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers are tied for the NL West lead with one game to go. The Rockies host the Washington Nationals on Sunday, with left-hander Tyler Anderson taking the mound for the Rockies and right-hander Erick Fedde going for the Nats. The Rockies catch a massive break by avoiding Cy Young candidate and MLB strikeout king Max Scherzer, who could have gone Sunday on regular rest but will call it a season. The Dodgers send out right-hander Walker Buehler against the host San Francisco Giants and left-hander Andrew Suarez. The NL West race is a bit more confusing than the NL Central one. We do know that the eventual division winner will face the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS, but the seeding is to be determined (see below). The loser will travel to face the NL Central runner-up in the NL Wild Card Game on Tuesday. There will be a one-game tiebreaker on Monday if both NL West teams win (or lose tomorrow). The Dodgers will host that matchup thanks to their 12-7 season-series win.If there is no tie (that would mean a Rockies win and Dodgers loss Sunday or vice versa), then the winning side will be the NL West champion and the No. 2 seed. The only way Atlanta can get the No. 2 seed is if they beat the Philadelphia Phillies (right-hander Kevin Gausman goes for the Braves against Phils left-hander Ranger Suarez) and the Rockies and Dodgers both lose. That would leave the Braves as the uncontested No. 2 seed alone at 91-71.The Braves lost theseason-series tiebreakerto the Rockies and Dodgers, so they'd be lower in the NL bracket if there is a tie. LOS ANGELES (AP) — With all the high-priced talent on the Los Angeles Dodgers‘ roster, Max Muncy had to find a way to stand out. He has done it with his bat, coming from the minors to lead the team in home runs.He slugged 35 homers in the regular season, propelled by a first-half tear that landed him in the Home Run Derby.Muncy’s three-run drive powered the Dodgers to a win in the opener of their National League Division Series against Atlanta, and they eventually eliminated the Braves in four games.“The whole experience has been incredible,” Muncy said.Next up is the NLCS against Milwaukee starting Friday Richie Ashburn Jersey , putting Muncy in a best-of-seven series for the first time in his career.Don’t expect him to be rattled, either.“Starting with game 163 I was kind of nervous, but you look at how everyone else in the clubhouse is walking around handling themselves,” Muncy said Wednesday. “There’s so much experience there. There’s no panic, there’s no worry. They’re all calm as can be. That kind of resonates through me. If it wasn’t for those guys, then maybe it’s a different story.”His results seem all the more improbable because Muncy isn’t an everyday player. He pops up anywhere from first base to second to third, and occasionally the outfield. The 28-year-old utility player was a non-roster invitee at spring training. He began the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, shivering in freezing weather during the team’s opener at Iowa on April 5.Less than two weeks later, Muncy was called up by the Dodgers because of injuries. He homered in his second at-bat and kept on going.“He’s just killed it for us,” teammate Ross Stripling.During All-Star weekend, Muncy defeated the Cubs’ Javier Baez in the first round of the Derby before losing to eventual champion Bryce Harper in the next round. After the break, Muncy struggled at the plate, with his average dipping to .183.“I was just focused on trying to get back to where I needed to be, back to controlling the strike zone, putting good swings on balls,” he said.Buoyed by manager Dave Roberts’ unflagging belief Chuck Klein Jersey , Muncy recovered his stroke and has continued to contribute in big moments. One of his best traits is his discipline at the plate, knowing when to let a pitch go by and when to swing.“It’s just something that I’ve always had,” he said. “It’s one of those things where you kind of either have it or you don’t.”Stripling faced Muncy back in their high school days in North Texas and later in college, with Muncy at Baylor and Stripling pitching at Texas A&M.“He was a guy that was always going to command the strike zone and just going to be just an absolute brutal matchup because he spits on good pitches, he commands the zone and puts the bat on the ball and walks,” Stripling said after a workout at Dodger Stadium.“In college he had some power and hit some home runs. He’s made some swing adjustments that have maybe created some more power,” Stripling said.A fifth-round pick in the 2012 major league draft, Muncy was released by Oakland in March 2017. He got signed by the Dodgers and sent to the minors, where pitcher Walker Buehler was also in Oklahoma City.Six months ago in Iowa, Muncy figured Buehler was a lock to wind up in Los Angeles, but wasn’t so sure about himself. Now, the rookie and the seven-year journeyman have created a buzz in the Dodgers’ bid to win their first World Series title since 1988.“I know for both of us to be able to help out this team the entire year the way we have it’s just been something that’s been very special,” Muncy said.

The Chicago Cubs were pounding out lopsided victories and squeezing out tight games

CHICAGO (AP) — while putting together their longest winning streak of the season.Todd Frazier brought it to a screeching halt. Even so http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authen...ell-jersey , the Cubs weren’t complaining.Frazier hit a grand slam and drove in a season-high five runs to lead the New York Mets to a 10-3 victory over Chicago on Wednesday, avenging a tough loss earlier in the day.The Cubs had won a season-high seven in a row after pulling out a 2-1 victory earlier Wednesday on Ben Zobrist’s RBI single with the bases loaded in the 11th. That game was suspended in the top of the 10th because of rain the previous night. The scheduled meeting didn’t go nearly as well for the NL Central leaders. They couldn’t close out a perfect homestand after sweeping the first four games against Cincinnati and taking two more from New York. But they felt charged and ready for a season-long 11-day, 11-game trip that starts Thursday at Atlanta.“I feel like we’re in a good spot,” Zobrist said. “There’s definitely a few guys that are grinding still. But we as a team, I think we feel good. We feel upbeat and excited about where we’re headed.”Frazier gave New York a 4-0 lead in the first inning with his drive against Alec Mills and added an RBI single in a two-run ninth.Jason Vargas (5-8) won his third straight start. The Mets pounded out 16 hits and avoided a season sweep after dropping the first six games against the NL Central leaders.Vargas gave up one run and four hits in 5 1/3 innings, striking out six and walking two. The veteran left-hander has a 1.62 ERA in his past three outings.Mills (0-1) scattered five hits over five innings in his second major league start and did not allow a run after Frazier’s grand slam.He walked Michael Conforto with two outs in the first to load the bases. Frazier then launched a 2-0 pitch toward the back of the left-field bleachers — his fourth career grand slam and first since he hit one for the White Sox at Texas on May 9, 2016.“To get us kick-started there was nice, and then to give Vargas a cushion there so he can make some pitches and take a chance on some guys,” Frazier said. “That’s what we have to do every day as hitters.”Ian Happ hit an RBI single for Chicago in the second Dave Winfield Jersey , but the Mets scored four in the seventh to make it 8-1. Victor Caratini hit a two-run homer for Chicago in the ninth.COMING THROUGHIn the suspended game, Zobrist grounded the winning single up the middle off Daniel Zamora with one out in the 11th after Chicago loaded the bases against Paul Sewald (0-5).“He’s playing with a lot of mental energy right now, too,” manager Joe Maddon said. “(I) talk to him all the time. He’s definitely totally engaged. And I think, again, he’s fresh. I don’t see him as being beaten up right now. That’s my biggest concern moving forward.”Cole Hamels threw five scoreless innings. Jesse Chavez (5-2) got the win with a scoreless 11th, and Anthony Rizzo matched a career high with four hits.New York’s Jacob deGrom went eight innings, allowing one run and eight hits. He struck out 10 and walked one while lowering his ERA to 1.68. He also had two hits, including an RBI single to the shortstop in the sixth.TRAINER’S ROOMMets: RHP Robert Gsellman (strep throat) and C Devin Mesoraco (stiff neck) sat out. Mesoraco was available Jack Morris Jersey , and Gsellman could have come on in an emergency, manager Mickey Callaway said. … 3B David Wright went 0 for 5 in his second rehab game with Triple-A Las Vegas. He played nine innings at third base.Cubs: 3B Kris Bryant (left shoulder inflammation) was to play in one of two games for Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday while LHP Brian Duensing (left shoulder inflammation) was also scheduled to pitch for the minor league club. … Closer Brandon Morrow (right biceps inflammation) threw off flat ground from 105 feet. … SS Addison Russell (sprained left middle finger, right shoulder inflammation) played catch.UP NEXTMets: RHP Zack Wheeler (9-6, 3.46 ERA) — 7-0 in his past 11 starts — looks to extend his unbeaten streak as New York opens a three-game series at San Francisco on Friday. LHP Andrew Suarez (5-9, 4.42) pitches for the Giants.Cubs: LHP Mike Montgomery (4-4, 3.62) is expected to be activated from the disabled list after being sidelined because of left shoulder inflammation when the Cubs visit Atlanta on Thursday. RHP Mike Foltynewicz (10-8, 2.67) pitches for the Braves. NEW YORK — Nearly a month ago, the Washington Nationals scored 25 runs against the New York Mets. Now they are on the verge of going scoreless in New York. The Nationals seek their first run since Wednesday night when they try to avert a three-game sweep by the Mets on Sunday afternoon at Citi Field.Article continues below ...Since Ryan Zimmerman hit a game-winning, two-run homer in the ninth inning off Seranthony Dominguez to beat the Philadelphia Phillies http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authen...iaz-jersey , the Nationals have not scored. In those 27 innings, the Nationals are batting .176 (16-for-91) with 28 strikeouts while going 1-for-17 with runners in scoring position and 3-for-27 with men on base.It is the first time that Washington has been blanked in three straight games since leaving Montreal after the 2004 season. The last instance of the franchise getting shut out in three straight games was April 13-15, 2004, against the Miami Marlins when Brad Penny, Dontrelle Willis and Carl Pavano did it.The Nationals are coming off consecutive 3-0 losses to the Mets, the same team they beat 25-4 at home on July 31. Since scoring the most runs in a game in franchise history, the Nationals are 11-13.“It’s been difficult,” Nationals center fielder Adam Eaton said. “It’s very mind-numbing because we do have such good talent and we have guys that have unbelievable numbers throughout their career. And for some reason, this year we haven’t really been able to put it together.”Eaton had two of Washington’s seven hits and reached four times Saturday. The Nationals desperately tried to get a spark http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authen...oup-jersey , and they began the game with consecutive bunts, a hit-and-run play and a delayed steal.“I’m trying to get things going, and moving things around and see what happens,” Nationals manager Dave Martinez. “It’s like somebody shut the door to get home. We got to get home. We got to get home.”Bryce Harper is hitless in 11 at-bats during the shutout streak and hitless in his last 13 at-bats since a fourth-inning single Wednesday.Since suffering the worst loss in team history, the Mets (58-71) are 14-9 in their last 20 games. They also are 11-6 in their last 17 after Amed Rosario homered and had three hits Saturday.“I think the guys know that we’re better than we should’ve been in the past, and we’re starting to play like a team that’s more capable,” Mets manager Mickey Callaway said. “It’s fun that nobody’s ever lost their enthusiasm.”New York also had produced consecutive shutouts for the first time since Aug. 11-12, 2015, when Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom beat the Colorado Rockies. This time Matt Adams Jersey , Jason Vargas and Zack Wheeler pitched seven innings apiece and the Mets allowed three runs or less for the eighth straight game while improving to 8-6 against the Nationals.“We know it’s the Nationals,” Callaway said. “We know that we had our struggles against them. You can feel it. There’s a lot of energy.”During this shutout streak, Max Scherzer, Gio Gonzalez and Tanner Roark have produced effective outings for the Nationals. On Sunday, Jefry Rodriguez will make his eighth appearance and sixth career start.Rodriguez is 1-1 with a 5.46 ERA so far and is facing the Mets for the first time. As a starting pitcher, he is 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA. He last pitched Aug. 18 in a 7-5 loss to Miami when he allowed four runs in five innings of a no-decision.New York’s starting pitchers own a 1.40 ERA in its last eight games and Steven Matz will try to keep it going. Matz will make his third start since ending a disabled list stint with a forearm strain. He last pitched in Tuesday’s 6-3 win over San Francisco when he allowed two runs in five innings. Matz was on the mound for the 25-4 loss in Washington when he allowed seven runs and eight hits while getting two outs. The left-hander is 1-3 with a 10.61 ERA in his last five starts after posting a 3.38 ERA before the All-Star break. He is 0-2 with a 7.31 ERA in four starts against the Nationals this season. In his career, he is 1-4 with a 4.00 ERA in eight starts against Washington.

Packers 2018 Prop Bets: Odds on Aaron Rodgers http://www.packerscheapstore.com/nick-pe...rsey-cheap , NFC North, & Super Bowl LIII Prop bets have become one of the biggest ways to participate in sports gambling over the years, with sports books both in Las Vegas and online giving odds on just about anything a prospective bettor can imagine. With the 2018 NFL season almost upon us, let’s take a look at some of the bets that are available for fans interested in how the betting market views the Green Bay Packers.(Note that all odds are provided from the online sports book Bovada.)Team PropsFirst of all, we have overall odds on the team itself. Over/under total wins: 10Odds to win Super Bowl LIII: 11/1 (T-5th behind Patriots, Rams, Eagles, Steelers)Odds to win NFC Championship: 7/1 (3rd behind Eagles, Rams)Odds to win NFC North: 31/20 (2nd behind Vikings at 23/20)Odds to make playoffs: 1/2 (-200)Notable is that the Packers’ over/under total on wins has remained the same since May, but the odds on either side have changed. While the odds favored the under slightly in May (-140 for under compared to +110 for the over), they have shifted to favor the over (-130 for over compared to even/+100 for the under).Aaron Rodgers PropsRodgers’ return from injury this year gives the NFL back one of its biggest superstars, and it’s no surprise that the two-time MVP is near the top of most prop odds involving quarterbacks. Here are a handful of odds involving Rodgers himself:Odds to lead the NFL in passing yards: 19/2 (4th, behind Tom Brady http://www.packerscheapstore.com/davante...rsey-cheap , Drew Brees, Philip Rivers)Odds to lead the NFL in passing touchdowns: 9/2 (lowest odds)Odds to lead the NFL in interceptions: off the boardThere should be no surprise that you can’t even get odds on Rodgers leading the lead in interceptions. He has finished in double digits only twice, in 2008 and 2010, and the league leader has had no fewer than 18 picks in recent recorded history. As for touchdowns, though, Rodgers has surprisingly led the NFL only once, in 2016. He threw 45 during his first MVP year in 2011 but fell one short of Drew Brees’ 46, while his 38 in 2014 came up third behind Andrew Luck (40) and Peyton Manning (39).It’s also no surprise that Rodgers isn’t the favorite to lead the league in passing yards. In fact, he has never finished a season higher than fourth in that statistic, holding that spot in 2008, 2009, and 2016. Part of the reason for that is that he has regularly finished outside the top ten in total pass attempts.Packers vs. Steelers Inactives: Green Bay sits Lane Taylor, Bryan Bulaga Cheap Aaron Rodgers Jersey , Kevin King The word out of Green Bay this week was that Aaron Rodgers was going to play for the Green Bay Packers in their second preseason game and their final exhibition contest at Lambeau Field. That indeed appears to be the case, as Rodgers — and almost the entire Packers starting lineup — is in uniform for tonight’s contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both of the Packers’ injured offensive tackles, David Bakhtiari and Bryan Bulaga, were both in pads during warmups. However, Bulaga ended up being a scratch for the game, along with another starting lineman, left guard Lane Taylor. However, we will get to see the Packers’ biggest free agent acquisition, tight end Jimmy Graham, as he is in uniform tonight as well. How long will the starters play? Head coach Mike McCarthy said he hopes to get Aaron Rodgers about ten snaps or so tonight, meaning most likely one or two series for him and the starters. The Packers defense also gets closer to full health tonight. Clay Matthews is playing, as is rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander. Unfortunately, we’ll need to wait at least another week to see cornerback Kevin King or defensive lineman Mike Daniels. For the Steelers Youth Jamaal Williams Jersey , several key players are out, both with injuries and as healthy scratches. Their top two quarterbacks, Ben Roethlisberger and backup Landry Jones, are sitting, along with star wide receiver Antonio Brown and All-Pro defensive lineman Cam Heyward. Joining them on the shelf are former Wisconsin Badger T.J. Watt, who has a hamstring injury, and a handful of others. Here are the inactive players for both teams tonight.Packers InactivesOLB Nick Perry (PUP list, ankle)OT Bryan BulagaDT Mike DanielsWR Trevor DavisRB Aaron JonesCB Kevin KingRB Devante MaysLG Lane TaylorS Jermaine WhiteheadSteelers InactivesWR Eli Rogers (PUP list, knee)S Marcus Allen (??)S Sean Davis (groin)G Ramon Foster (knee)TE Xavier Grimble (thumb)TE Vance McDonald (foot)OLB T.J. Green, John Ross Phillip Gaines Jersey , Tyler Boyd and Josh Malone. Second-year RB Joe Mixon is dual threat to run or catch, as is veteran Giovani Bernard. QB Andy Dalton coming off subpar year after getting little time to throw. Coordinator Bill Lazor overhauled offense, aiming for more big plays. Deep group of pass rushers led by veteran linemen Carlos Dunlap and Geno Atkins along with second-year LB Carl Lawson anchors reconfigured defense under new coordinator Teryl Austin. Dunlap and Atkins got multiyear extensions before the final preseason game.Weaknesses: Offensive line was unable to open holes for run game or protect Dalton last season, when Bengals finished last in yards on offense for first time in their history. Overhauled line will be key, and it struggled at times during preseason, especially right side. Bengals counting on Ross and Boyd to have breakout years after disappointing seasons. Also need TE Tyler Eifert to stay healthy coming off back surgery.Fantasy Player To Watch: Mixon. With Hill gone, second-year back moves into primary role. Bengals plan to use him as receiver more, and he's shown ability to turn short catches into big plays in preseason.Vegas Says: Super Bowl 105-1. Over/under wins 7.Expectations: Decision to bring back coach Marvin Lewis after second straight losing season and 0-7 playoff record sent message of more-of-same in Cincinnati, which operates under change-averse owner Mike Brown and hasn't won playoff game since 1990 season, sixth-longest stretch of futility in NFL history. Offense failed to use its big-play threats effectively last two seasons, hampered by awful performance on line. Their fate rests largely upon how overhauled line performs.

That’s why it matters. The Los Angeles Rams beat the Green Bay Packers at home www.losangelesramsteamonline.com , 29-27, in a matchup of two postseason-caliber teams in a postseason-caliber game giving us a sense of postseason-caliber football. That’s why it matters. The offense struggled mightily early with the playcalling, offensive line and wide receivers struggling to get into the game. It improved mightily in the second half giving QB Jared Goff an opportunity to provide some big plays. That’s why it matters. The defense was run over early opening a window for QB Aaron Rodgers to worry Rams fans about an eventual game-long blowout. Instead, the defense settled in early even with their backs against the wall without any offensive support and pushed the offense back into the game. That’s why it matters. And when the Packers took the lead with less than nine minutes remaining, it meant the Rams had to find a way to deal with a team who has been “there” before. Who has been tested in ways these Rams barely have. To find a way to win. They did. That’s why it matters.Los Angeles Rams at Oakland Raiders game balls: OL Austin Blythe lithe in support After a nerve wracking first half in Oakland, the Rams settled in to handle business in the second half with a strong, multi-faceted team effort. Here are just a few of the contributors that deserved some shine. And the game ball goes to...G Austin Blythe Filling in for Jamon Brown Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt , Blythe could’ve been a leaky valve in the Rams’ normally stable offensive line. Instead, he fit right in, and even got out ahead of a few plays; notably Todd Gurley’s 19 yard touchdown scamper in the first quarter. With Jamon Brown becoming a free agent after this season, having Blythe will be a luxury if he can keep it rolling like he did in Oakland.RB Todd Gurley/ WR Brandin CooksTheir skill sets are going to be very complimentry of each other, and last night we got our first glimpse of that. Cooks’ big plays were the result of pass interferences calls, but the Rams let the world know that they are willing to find him behind the defense often, which is really going to make it difficult to key in on Gurley. Gurley looked fresh Los Angeles Rams Hats , as he should have, having sat out the entire preseason and most of the first half. Whether it is on the ground or through the air, Gurley clearly unlocked the offense in the second half. DL Michael BrockersWhile statistically Donald and Suh’s work was mostly done under the radar, we got to see how they help free up guys like Michael Brockers, as well as Jonathan Franklin-Myers. Brockers looked athletic and ready to capitalize on having a tad more space to operate this season. P Johnny Hekker62 yard punts are kicked with gameballs. That was some fine work in the thick night air of the East Bay Johnny! ILB Cory LittletonGame one of the Littleton experiment was mostly a success. 13 tackles and an interception is a good start. He did miss a tackle on Oakland’s Marshawn Lynch in the second half, but Marshawn isn’t the easiest guy to take down either. It seems like Littleton will be a nice piece next to Mark Barron in the near future. S John Johnson IIIThis one’s kind of a funny selection, because he was picking up Jared Cook for much of the night Los Angeles Rams Hoodie , and Cook had a monster night. But Johnson also made plays, and battled with the much larger Cook. Johnson looked pretty physical, and should fair well in more favorable match-ups. Plus he hauled in a nice end zone pick to go with his nine tackles.
